The .458 SOCOM was developed for special forces to meet the need of massive punch in close quarters battle. The .458 cartridge is battle tested with rave reviews of it's stopping power effectiveness and is easily suppressed. With readily available reasonably priced cartridges, the 350gr .458 also beats other big bore AR cartridge performance soundly within 75 yards and has an effective range of 200 yards. Expect 1800 ft/lbs of energy from the .458 SOCOM as opposed to 1300 fl/lbs with typical 300BLK ammo.
The .458 can be used in standard AR15 5.56 magazines and a standard 20-round 5.56mm NATO magazine can hold seven .458 SOCOM rounds, while a standard 30-round 5.56mm NATO magazine can hold ten .458 SOCOM rounds.

Faxon Firearms barrels are the pinnacle of value. Manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave, these barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11 degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.
