Rifle length buffer tube housing for full length A2 rifles. This is the buffer tube to use with full length AR15 or AR10 buffers and springs and is compatible with Magpul PRS, Command Arms SRS, and A2 fixed stocks. This fixed Mil-Spec buffer tube is made of durable T6-6061 aluminum and is designed to fit any A1/A2 fixed position buttstock.

What is A1 vs A2?

The buffer tube is the same for both stocks. The A1 vs A2 stocks are different. A1 uses no spacer and a shorter screw, A2 uses the spacer and a longer screw. If you're going to install an A1 stock on a rifle with a fixed stock make sure you have the shorter A1 upper screw (or you can cut an A2 screw down by 5/8", and don't forget the Blue Loctite).

A2 screw is longer by 5/8" and measures 1.15"

A1 screw is shorter and measures .56" or 9/16" in length. It is 1/4-28 threads.

A2 spacer needed with this buffer tube for A2 stock.

Hole in screw allows for excess air to be pushed out of extension tube which increases reliability in full auto and also acts as a drain to vent excess fluids from the tube.

I attached the buttstock extension buffer tube to my Savage 10 bolt action chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and on my AR10 Aero Precision M5 build chambered also in 6.5 Creedmoor, slipped on the Magpul PRS Gen3 Stock. I've used the extension buffer tube for all my fixed stocks. solid fit works great with the A-1 screw that is included with the tube and if needed also included is a spacer and A-2 screw. will buy the tube again
