Midwest MI-308SS18-DHM M-LOK 18” HIGH Profile DPMS .308 7.62 SS Free Float Handguard
Also works with Aero M5. This is the .210" Tang model. How to tell what type of DPMS LR-308 receiver you have:
August 2009 changed the height of the top rail on the LR308 upper receiver. To properly match your receiver height, measure the distance from the barrel's centerline to the top of the receiver rail. Aero Precision M5 uppers are DPMS High Profile pattern.
The distance from the barrel’s centerline to the top of the receiver rail on a pre August 2009 DPMS LR308 model and Aero M5 is HIGH PROFILE 1.313'’. On a post August 2009 DPMS LR308 model the distance is 1.253'’ also known as LOW PROFILE. Just to make things MORE confusing, S&W MP10 created their uppers with a 3/16" Tang BUT a 1.253" centerline distance. Therefore S&W has a "high profile" tang measurement but don't be fooled, it does require LOW PROFILE handguard due to the barrel centerline distance.
IMPORTANT: DPMS, BUSHMASTER & REMINGTON have two different height upper receivers.
The new “Low Profile” upper receiver has a 1/8" wide TANG top portion where the charging handle is installed.
The older “High Profile” upper receiver has a 3/16" wide TANG top portion where the charging handle is installed.

I bought this for my LR-308 build. It works well with the 24 inch bull (0.936") barrel 6.5 Creedmoor barrel from Ballistic Advantage. There was even enough clearance for a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block. There is about 5 inches of barrel sticking out past the handguard. I did not want a short handguard with that long of a barrel, and this one works/looks great.
I checked with Midwest Industries prior to ordering to make sure it would work with my receiver, and they were quick to reply. I mounted this handguard to a Live Free Armory billet receiver set, and the rail lined up perfectly. So far I have about 50-60 rounds through the rifle, while shooting from a bipod, and the handguard has not shifted. Definitely money well spent.

I use only mi products in all my builds ! Never had a problem ! So why take chances with cheaper products! When friends ask what to get I just let them shoot my guns and let them decide for themselves. Most everyone I shoot with or work on their guns is MI furniture! Steve
***** Great handguard for the .308 February 19, 2018

This is my 4th handguard from MI, but the first .308. As in the others, great quality, fit and finish. The only problem I had was the indexing of the bbl nut. The AR15 handguards are much easier...just torque and go. This one has to be lined up perfectly for the bosses on the handguard to slip into the recesses in the nut. But, when it did, solid and perfect as far as alignment. The top rail is perfectly aligned and height is spot-on. (Aero M5 upper).
