The MAM30 is Mako’s simple solution to a very complicated question. When we asked operators what they felt was lacking in their current red-dot optics setup, the most common answer was how to rapidly clear the magnifier from the path of their red dot optics in a way that doesn’t change the balance of the weapon. Not only did they want a way to clear it, they wanted to be able to keep it in a disengaged position without the magnifier:

1) Riding awkwardly on the firearm where it makes the profile of the weapon wider and causes the optic to smack into walls and other obstacles like a FTS Flip to Side Mount
2) Not have to remove and replace the optic every time they need to change engagement distances. 

Enter Mako’s MAM30. Our solution was to create a mount that has the ability to raise the magnifier above the red dot’s line of sight. With the simple push of a button, the magnifier rises above the height of your red dot optic, allowing it to be used for CQB, or to use the line of sight for back up irons if there is a malfunction with the red dot. Since the disengaged magnifier sits only slightly above the red-dot, the balance of the weapon is not changed and its profile is maintained. With the MAM30 you will not have to worry about “slamming” your magnifier into door jams and other obstacles when moving through confined spaces, which could result in damages to pricey optics. 

With our design, a secondary problem was also solved. We included 11 locking positions into the design, allowing the MAM30 to be used with virtually any red-dot optic (such as the Aimpoint, Eotech, M21 Israeli Reflex, etc) on the market. Gone are the headaches of trying to line up mounting systems with different red-dot sight. Gone is the hassle of ordering pricey riser mounts trying to mate your magnifier with your red-dot, only to find that it still doesn’t match up.
