A heavy barreled upper on an AR-15 offers several advantages for sustained firing:

Improved Heat Dissipation: The increased mass of a heavy barrel absorbs and disperses heat more effectively, reducing the risk of overheating during rapid or prolonged firing sessions. This helps maintain accuracy and prevents barrel warping.

Enhanced Accuracy: The added weight of a heavy barrel minimizes barrel vibration and harmonics when firing, leading to more consistent shot placement and improved accuracy, especially during rapid fire.

Reduced Recoil and Muzzle Rise: The extra mass helps dampen recoil and muzzle rise, allowing for quicker target reacquisition and more controlled follow-up shots.

RPK bipod with hardware is 1.1 LBS This bipod is simple, sturdy and pretty light, and fast to manipulate. The RPK Bi-Pod requires a slim handguard.

Devil Dog Hard Charger Side Charge capability from the prone is a life saver for faster racking or re-racking of the bolt!

For customization of hand guards, or barrel length alternatives, please contact VT Supply for additional information. Also, we can help you modify the upper with side charging capabilities, either Upper Receivers or Side Charging Handles like the Devil Dog Hard Charger- shown as an accessary. Please contact us for assistance with lower receivers that match well and will allow you to upgrade your trigger selection.
