These are the very popular DPMS Gen I Low Profile Pattern upper receivers. DPMS made Gen I in high or low profile. Gen II (aka small frame) is a recent development by DPMS. The Gen II are not well embraced by third party manufacturers at this time and there are very few handguards and lowers available on the market for it.

This model was improved to correct the forward assist and make it functional in Guntec's Latest .308 Billet Upper Revision which is on hand now here.
