Description:
The Cross Machine Tool Ultra Precision Upper Receiver Part# UPUR is the perfect premium quality upper for any Mil-Spec lower build. The UPUR is machined from Billet 7075 T6 Aluminum unlike the more commonly used 6061. Using the 7075 T6 aluminum gives the UP-UR a 65% increase in strength & rigidity over 6061 aluminum receivers. The UPUR-1 is machined on a 5 Axis machining Center to reduce the number of operations/setups required to complete. This machining process allows the highest possible accuracy to be obtained over the traditional 3 or 4 Axis machining method. The UPUR-1 is designed for increased function, performance & to provide an advanced modern appearance & feel to the AR15 platform weapon system.
Now available in enhanced version designed for a .458 SOCOM build by enlarging the ejection port and increasing the wall thickness for greater durability. Still compatible with Mil-Spec AR-15 lowers, and uses standard dust covers, the UPUR-1A is machined from a billet of 7075-T6 aluminum allowing for a custom look and precise dimensions and is much stronger than traditional 6061 aluminum.
FAQ: Can I use the UPUR1A for my AR15 Build?
The UPUR1A does NOT HAVE to be used for .458. The analogy I would use is the UPUR1A (.59" ejection port) is like a 5.56 NATO caliber compared to the UPUR1 (.50" ejection port) being like a smaller .223 Remington. A 5.56 chambered barrel will safely shoot both .223 or 5.56 cartridges. The UPUR1A ejection port similarly is big enough for either 5.56 or .458 and will run either well. A Remington .223 chambered barrel however ONLY shoots .223. Similarly a UPUR1 will only eject the smaller 5.56 bullets and the .458 would be to large.
